Task 1–Please watch this YouTube video and discuss it in relationship to the Zhao and Friedman readings.

What do you think about Zhao’s argument in his EDGE piece? Does it differ from or reinforce Friedman’s argument? In what ways?

How/what does Lankshear and Knobel’s (Alvermann) discussion of the “attention economy” add to the challenge both Friedman and Zhao make about public education?

2– Access this very timely (for our class) series of reports from the front lines, that is, schools, out of San Diego. You can download and listen on your mp3 player and/or read the series. Blog about its implications for 3.0 teachers! Note the bookmarking sites referenced to readers/listeners of this series.

3–To Do–Set up your bloglines account to retrieve selected content from classmates and other web “teachers” w/one click. And see what Will has to say to the teacher he encountered at one of his workshops in Australia! Very cool. It’s his message and his mantra.

And then check out Will’s comment and ray’s reaction to it on Ray’s blog. Couldn’t be sweeter Ray. I agree! KES
